Hello, I sure could use some help. I have not been able to do any of the
items in the subject matter. When I go to Windows Update, an ACTIVEX box
appears and I click "Install", but nothing happens. I cannot go to Security
in the Control Panel and change status to Automatic Update, nor can I do it
manually via the System icon. It would appear that something is blocking me
from installing the ActiveX i need to download the latest updates for WIndows
XP.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I might try? Please don't suggest a
restore or a format of my hard drive as I am totally ignorant and scared to
death to try these options. I hope this is a small problem that someone can
assist me with.
Thanks and Happy New Year!!

Hi! Just saw your thread and thought I'd ask you: do you use Panda for your
anti-virus, etc. program? If so, check out the info on the 1/2 thread
entitled "0x80200010" for the solution. If you have Panda, you'll need
either a patch (for the 2004 version) or a program update (for the 2005) via
pandasoftware.com.

Hope this helps...
