The msn servers are going haywire again...

all day I cant connect with LIVE messenger with one account.
If I try msn 7.5 or live with the same account, it works.
If I try another account it works with Live messenger.

Verified on several computers.

Greetings,

Happens all the time. For what it's worth, it's happening to my account right now too.

Because it happens all the time, and we know it, does not make it ok.
Its microsoft for crying out loud... what servers are they using for the
network?
Windows 95? LOL (or even worse WinMe!)

Hi,

Been able to login for a bit now. Actually, they're running Windows Server 2003 64-bit
edition.

Hi,

I forget how many there are, it isn't that many though (especially after you omit the test
servers and so on in Redmond).

However, there is no backup and they are in one location (Mountain View, CA to be exact).

it seems strange how only a few servers can handle the whole worlds msn
accounts....

Hi,

More servers isn't always the answer. In fact, I'd be way easier to manage (and fix) a
smaller number of servers than a lot of them.

yes but I was referring to the amount of work those few servers must be
doing

Hi,

The last time they came out with the data, the actual load on the Messenger servers was
rather reasonable.

Of course, this may have changed.
