For the past couple days, I have not been able to login to Live Messenger. I
keep getting an error that says to check my proxy/firewall settings. I'm not
blocking any ports nor do I have a proxy. Are there any ports that I should
be forwarding?

I also tried John's reg fix but that didn't work successfully.

Any ideas?

Can you send us the msnmsgr.txt from My Documents\My received files folder?
If you do not have one, please go to Tools->Options->Connections->Advanced
and enable "Save a log of my server connections" and retry logging in and
send the file.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. It seems I cannot attach a file through the web
interface so I had to put it on YouSendIt. If you would like me to send it
elsewhere (thru e-mail) I have no problems with that. Here's the link to my
msnmsgr.txt file:

Greetings,

You can also try this.

Go to Start, run, then type "regedit"

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\microsoft\MSNMessenger\ Policies

Delete the key "contacts.msn.com"

Then, try launching Windows Live Messenger again.
