Cannot open certain websites

Just purchased new computer w/ Vista. Running well but cannot open certain
websites such as, usairways.com and alaskaairlines.com.

Any suggestions on internet setting which may help with this problem?

"Cannot open" is a bit vague. Errors? Symptoms? How far does it get?

Thanks for the response. With Alaska airlines it says connecting on the tap
while the circle goes around and the progress bar goes to 1/3 full. Nothing
ever appears on screen and it would stay like this forever!

With the US Airways website, I can get to the front page and input flight
request info., but when I hit search the circle on the tap goes around and
there is no progress on the progress bar. It would stay like this forever.

I have had problems with certain sites also and despite whatever I tried
always the same result. I did come up with a totally unofficial fix...I use
Firefox for those sites and IE for everything else.

What isp do you use? Been experiencing the same issues with simila
sites, tried a few tweeks that are spread around and not one site offer
a fix or a half decent workaround, firefox takes way too long to ope
and avg will not update, been on the phone to aol uk and nearly got som
free ring dings from my internet service providings, he ****ed abou
with the settings a screwed things up to the point of telling me its
microsoft issue and to contact them to see if they have a solution WTF
highly unlikely you will find a solution other than 'i am having th
same problem' posts in their hundreds. looking like a re-installation o
vist

am also on aol and having numerous problems.slow speeds and some
websites only open if you use aol software.
its aaol/cpw problem with their servers.they cant supply enough bandwith
since they had to come off aol servers and use their own.
a lot of disgruntled aol members are migrating due to crap phone wharehouse
not supplying a good service since they took over aol.
