Cannot play music with Media Player

I recenly had a virus and had to remove and reinstall all of my music files
using an external hard drive. The music files are now formatted to play on
Music Match Jukebox, and although I changed the music file properties to be
compatible with Media Player, they still do not play with Media Player. Any
idea how to accomplish this? All of the files are unable to be played with
any program, including the Music Match Jukebox.

What's the exact error message that WMP shows when you try to play one
of these files? However, if other programs can't play the files either,
then there's most likely something wrong with the files themselves, and
not with WMP.
