XP to XP is fine.
Vista to XP does not work.

Who tested this software? It even makes no sense, the printer wizard makes
you do local printer in order to even connect to a shared printer, and then
it doesn't work.

Your security features for this is way too hard to allow legitimate printing
on shared printers, and requires me to have a windows Vista password on MY
account to even use printers on ANOTHER PC? How does this make
sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remake Vista plz k thx bie

If the print is going thru the Ethernet device, and the wire connection is
long, try using the device Properties of the Ethernet device to set the
Speed to 100 HALF-duplex.

For what it's worth: I have an XP and Vista connected through a belkin
router. What I do is find the Printer Icon on the XP PC, drag it onto the
Vista PC. I am then asked to install the driver and it works ok.
