cannot restore to windows.old

Hello
I got a laptop Acer from a reseller 3 wks ago. It started acting weird, so I
got told to pop the cd in. Unfortunatly, it changed everything and installed
another version of Vista on my laptop, but now, I cannot reactivate my file
windows.old.....
Any Idea!?!!?

Hi Jean,

Did you follow the steps here to restore the previous installation?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933168

Otherwise, all you will be able to do is take ownership of the windows.old
folder and recover data from it. You won't be able to recover user profiles
and programs.
