I cannot run windows update as error 0x80072EFD always pops up.

I have tried all of the things the website suggests, but nothing has worked.
My computer does a vulnerability check every week, & it is telling me that it
is vulnerable & needs to update. Any advice on how to fix this? It is a
brand new computer and I'm not sure why it isn't working. Thanks!

You are not alone. I am also having the same problem since past one month or
so and I have also tried every thing that the web sites suggest, but no luck
yet. Can anyone help please!!

I had the same problem with Internet Explorer but ran Maxton instead of IE
and the Microsoft Update works. Very interesting. A Microsoft program can
not fix itself but a another program from a competitor can fix Microsoft
programs.
It's free and can be downloaded at http://www.maxthon.com/. Once installed
run it instead of Internet Explorer and give it the address
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/ for updates.
