Cannot scan on Win7

My Windows 7 computer will not scan. When I connect my scanner, the
computer detects the scanner and installs the drivers. However, when
I use Windows Fax and Scan, Windows Photo Gallery, or Photoshop, the
scanner does not appear in the list of devices.

I have tried different scanners with no success.

When I go to Control Panel - Device Manager, the scanners do show up
under "Imaging devices"

64 bit OS?

Give this program a try. I'm not saying you have to buy it, but I would
be surprised if vuescan doesn't find the scanner.
