Cannot Scroll on Laptop

After closing the lid of my laptop, then reopening (after my laptop goes to
sleep), I cannot use the scroll pad that is on the laptop itself to scroll up
and down things like web pages. I'm not sure if this is an issue with Vista,
or the laptop itself (a Dell Inspiron 1520). Is there a way I can make sure
that I can use the scroll function on the built in mouse after I've opened my
laptop again?

Check with Dell for updated drivers and/or any remediation steps that may be
available. It isn't a Vista issue as it works fine on both my HP laptops.

Hi,

This is more than likely a driver issue as there are many laptops which run
Vista and don't have the problem...

I would check with Dell for updated drivers etc -
http://support.dell.com/support/down...&catid=&impid=

I did have a quick look at the driver information for you and it didn't
point to anything relating to the problem, if this is the case and the
driver doesn't help you, you may want to open a support case with Dell and
see if they can help.

Good Luck!

Jon
