Cannot send IM

I'm using Windows Live Messenger Beta and all of a sudden I can't send IMs.
I installed a bunch of updates... but I'm not sure that has anything to do
with it. Help!

I am getting this aswell just getting the message

Lots of people are having the same issue... What we can do now is to wait...

I'm having the same problem and so are two people using the web based
messenger. We can see each other online but messages are not going through...

I'm having that problem too. I was using version 7.5 this morning, and it
wasn't working, so I changed to 8.1 beta and am having the same problems.
Guess we just need to wait it out

system must be down or something....was just webcaming fine 25 min ago,,,now
i and my contacts are getting the same error message listed above.

yeah, must be, I am also getting the same error. Its really annoying...
having to resort to email!

It's been up and down.

What you can do is communicate by display name, so you can change your name to:
John: Hey!

Then block and unblock the person you're targeting so they see the message. It's a lot like
communicating using smoke signals.

No, I'm not entirely serious, although it does work.
