Cannot switch between users in Vista

When attempt to log off or switch users in Vista screen freezes. Other users
do not appear. Get message cannot access RPC server. On home network with
three computers. This is new problem just started last week. After four
attempts to sign on to other user computer appears to automatically restart
and all users appear and can be accessed.
