I have a red shield on my toolbar and when click it Auto Update is off, I
click the turn it on but nothing happens. I then go into services via
Start/Run --services.msc--and go into Auto Update and click properties and
select either manual or auto and click start..I then get an error 1058
message stating somehting like I do not have an associated device to support
auto update.....Help please, this has only just occurred....

Considerations:-

The system may be infected with malware "Vundo"
http://www.microsoft.com/security/po...=Win32%2fVundo

or

Service does not start and displays "Error 1058"
