Cannot Update Vista x86

For some strange reason, I can no longer use Windows Update.

Yesterday, I had been trying to install the latest update KB 925902 and it
kept giving me a failure code 8000070002. After trying the Microsoft
officially fix for that code, I now am stuck with Windows Update saying: "
Restart your computer to install important updates". However, if I restart
the computer, it does not install any updates and if I go to WU via the start
menu or the taskbar, I receive the same message (Restart your computer to
install important updates)

I even tried a "repair" install thinking that it would reinstall something
in the registry to prevent this but it didn't work.

Any suggestions....

UPDATE:

I was able to install KB925902 manually but it did not fix the other issue.
I still have a "Restart your computer to install important updates" and no
matter how many times I restart the PC the Windows Update is stuck on that....

Please, does anyone know how I can delete the file that is telling WU that I
need to restart the computer?
