Cannot update Windows XP Home using web update

Each time I attempt a web update I get the following error message, why? What
must I do to use web update?

The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are
trying to view.

Thanks I checked the error message & it indicated that the internet
coonection was not being made & that shvost needed to connect. I checked my
firewall & enabled generic host for Win process and Update was successful.
