Hello,

To switch to Microsoft Update now:

Converting to Microsoft Update is easy:
“I am currently using Windows Update. How can I access Microsoft Update?”:
How to enable and to disable Microsoft Update

If you ever decide you want to go back to Windows Update that is also easy.

When I go to the Microsoft Update Website, it gives me error code 0x80070002
an then it says, "The website has encountered a problem and cannot display
the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you
solve the problem." and none of the things below it help. What do I do?

You receive a "0x80070020 The process cannot access the file because it is
being used by another process" error message when you try to download an

I said did you reboot after renaming the softwaredistribution folder? And then try WU
again.

You have not yet confirmed that you are using Vista or Windows XP. I'm only guessing as
you mention Windows Update Service and that you have not got Automatic Update Service.

If Vista, did you view the tutorial.where it says you are using Windows Updates only and
given the option to get updates for more products?
You are aware of the fact that if you are using Vista, you cannot visit the website for
updates.

Before continuing please confirm what operating system you are using.

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. I didn't reboot after renaming it. how
do I get the update history back? It won't let me rename it back. and I was
getting updates from Microsoft update before I unchecked it. I wasn't
visiting the website, I was getting the updates from microsoft update through
windows update. now im not. If I click the link where it says get updates for
more products, it takes me to the website which I can't use. I want to get
the updates from Microsoft Update again so I can update office and my other
microsoft products. What do I do? the tutorial never mentioned the get
updates for more products link

If I got Automatic Update service would I be able to access Microsoft
Update? If so How do I get it
