An internal drive or external?
If internal what is shown in Disk Management
If external tried on another PC?

Hi

It is an internal drive ("F").

I don't see an option for "Disk Management". When I choose th
"Computer" option from the start-up menu, I used to see all three drive
under (Hard Disk Drives) and now it only shows two: "C" and "D". I'v
never used "D"... I think it is a partition drive that was created whe
the computer was built, but I've never touched it

Thank you
Meliss

See Help Disk Management or Computer management
Can be accessed via Contol Panel
Broadly speaking Disk Management will list your drives / partitions and give
an indication if there is a problem

D is probably a recovery Partition, particularly if its only a small size;
you have created your Recovery cd/dvd's havent you, if they were not
supplied?

Disk management console. Right click My Computer, Left click Manage, Left
click Disk Management. You are there. What drives does it show? Should
show C & D on one line and any CD/DVD drives as drive numbers and also your
drive F but it may not have a drive letter assigned but be listed there.
Let us know what the disk says. If the disk does not show even without a
drive letter something has failed in the drive to prevent Windows from
seeing it.

Two other checks is to see if the computer is recognizing the slave drive
(this is an internal second physical drive, correct?) in the bios. You need
to enable the computer to show the bios information while booting.

Another would be to remove the drive from the computer and either installing
as a slave into another computer or into a USB enclosure and plugging into
another computer to see if it is recognized.

Thank you for explaining it better. Here is what I found in the Manag
screens. It doesn't specifically say "F" drive and I'm kinda los
looking at it.

do that shortly

Thank you so very, very much for helping me

Who the h*all are you replying to? Learn to thread properly.

If you are replying to my post, then the only partition with no letter is
on your primary hard drive. It is almost certainly Acer's recovery
partition (and *don't* mess with it - you might need it someday).

Yes, it looks like J, K, L, and M are your multi-slot card reader, with a
card in L:. I apparently read 64 MB as 64 GB - nobody uses MB anymore
(joke). The clue that it's a four-slot card reader is the word "Removable"
on the left of the drives. I also missed that before :-)

No other hard drive appears.

Here's a suggestion - the next time you want to do a screen capture of a
window such as Disk Management, expand it so you can get all of the
information into one picture. It's a PITA to have to switch around, and it
also can lead to confusion because of the resulting lack of continuity.
