Can't access websites from links imbedded in email

I have Windows XP, Internet Explorer 7 and Outlook 2000. When I click on
links imbedded in email nothing happens. I remain in the email message and
I'm not directed to the website.

And your Windows Update problem is...?

1. [Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs >] Set Program Access and Defaults >
Configuration that's already checked > Browser: Select "Internet Explorer"
