I have just installed Windows XP Pro. on a machine and all network
connectivity appears to work fine. However, when I go to Windowsupdate and
choose "Express Install" it always fails after a short search with error
0x80072ee2. Does anyone know the cause of this and how to fix it?

Many thanks.

Andrew;
Try this:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=836941

Otherwise follow the Windows Update Checklist:

Not good:
1) I have tried all 6 suggestions in Q836941 to no avail;
2) This machine is on a network behind Kerio v6.0.9 NAT. All of the other
machines can use Windows Update;

It is as though it is something wrong with this fresh install of XP.

Appreciate the URL Windows Update Checklist. I'll check into that now.
