ok im at the desktop and im trying to do the activation i get a error code

0xc004e003

iv tryed everthing and i even get the same error when im offline to
i have dial-up as that i cant get hi-speed and theres no other way to

i have the keycode

i dont know what to do
the disc that i installed from is a dell vista home premium

and the pc that i installed it on is a emachines and they said as long as the
drivers are right it dont matter

yes i know dell - emachines yes yes i know so dont start iv had my part of
company back fire from dell emachines microsoft

Now that I have my glasses on, WHAT?
It's against the rules to use a Dell Disk to install on another brand.
The disk usually has code that looks for the manufacturer's tatoo in the
BIOS.
Wrong BIOS tattoo, no activation.
If that machine didn't come with Vista, legally you need to buy a retail
copy, but since the machine came with some version of Windows, an upgrade
version should work..
If there is a Vista keycode on the EMachine sticker, you can usually get
away with borrowing a generic OEM disk and it will activate.

When you call for activation, being an educated consumer is beneficial.

You are never required to provide any other info in order to get
activated. The agent is required to activate you immediately if you
phone in and provide only the product ID, hardware hash, and
occasionally the country in which the product(s) is being installed! It
is none of their business if you made hardware changes, why you are
reinstalling, etc and you do not need to answer questions like that. If
they give you a hard time, politely remind them of this policy posted on
their company's website. If still they persist, request politely to
speak to a supervisor and escalate the issue until they give YOU the
paying customer the treatment you deserve!

On the flipside, if you are sick of the activation crap, you may want to
check out the other alternatives.

If your Dell Vista Home Premium disk came with the Dell computer then
it is an OEM installation disk. It is tied to the motherboard of your Dell
computer and can be used on that particular Dell computer only. It cannot be
used on another Dell computer or any other computer for that matter. The
license for an OEM disk is much cheaper than the retail disk, therefore you
are limited to using it on only the computer the OS came on.
You cannot use it on your eMachine computer. You will have to purchase
another Vista disk, which will have a different license, for the eMachine.
If you purchase the retail Vista Full disk (not an Upgrade disk) you
can use it on any computer you wish as long as it is activated on only one
computer at a time. If you were allowed to use a Windows OS disk on as many
computers as you wish then you could purchase only one installation disk and
use it on thousands of computers. This is not realistic.
This is no different than third party software, which is one
license/one computer. Some software allows you to install it on more than
one computer but you usually must pay more than you would pay for a single
license.
