Can't Add Contact To Allow List

I just installed Live Messenger 8.0 on my machine. I added a contact with a
Yahoo.com email address. If I click on that contact I get a message saying "
You cannot send a message to contacts because he or she is not
in your allow list." It is then followed by a like to "Add contact to Allow
List". Selecting the link brings up an hourglass that does not go away and
the contact is not added. Any suggestions.
Dave

Greetings Dave,

Usually signing out and then signing back in will fix these issues.

Jonathan:
I wish that it was that easy. Signing off does not help, nor did
uninstalling and reinstalling. Anyone have any other ideas?

Dave
