cant burn cd or dvd in vista home premium

New machine with Vista Home Premium from HP

I am using HP Pavilion dv6318 with Vista Home Premium. I am unable to burn
CD or DVD using Vista.

When I start the Burn Process by right clicking on the E: Drive, it starts
good, however at the end when nearing 98% or 99% it throws a dialog, disc
cannot be burned or sometimes disc cannot be formated.

I tried even Windows Medial Player to burn the disc, no luck.

I tried with CD - R, CD - RW, CD +RW,CD-RW, DVD-RW, DVD+RW

Please Help.

Which non-built-in software have you tried?

vista even stoped reconizing my drives.couldnt burn anything..i had to go out
and buy a 2007 made dvd player,with new 2007 software..installed that and its
been working fine..do a manual restore point..after everythis working fine

Initially i tried with

Windows E: burn option
Windows Medial Player Burn Option

Then i have the Roxio CD Burner

I tried with Roxio

The I tried with a free ware

Deepburner
