can't change background

I've always had a personal pic has my background and one day it just changed
to a solid color and now when i right click my desktop and go to properties
to try and change it back to a picture it won't allow me to it only allows me
to choose a solid color, how can i get it to allow me to put a picture as my
background?

If you can't change Desktop background - Start>Control Panel>Ease of
Access>Ease of Access Center. Under "Make things on the screen easier to
see", deselect the option "Remove background images (where available).
Select "Save".

If that doesn't help, download the wallpaper_enable.reg file from MVP

Save the file to Desktop. Right-click on the file and then choose "Merge".
