I realize it's now several days later but...
I had the same prob...tried 'start-with-no-add-ons'...no luck.
I disabled my Trend Micro Antivirus and my Webroot Spy Sweeper...
Picked: Home>Remove>(name-of-my-home-page) and it was done at once.
Quickly re-enabled AV and Spy Sweeper. (I probably should have done the
fix while 'off-line') :-o
You also might check Frank Saunders reply to the post from Nando ("Can
not change home page") which follows yours for more 'possible suspects'.
