This is happening to me as well. It started happening after I installed
EZTwain Pro toolkit, but even after uninstalling that, the problem remains.
It freezes when right-clicking on the Desktop, or within Windows Explorer and
trying to expand the New item. It also happens if I try to expand the New
item from the File menu in Windows Explorer (rather than right-clicking). I
have tried using ShellExView to give me clues, but it hasn't helped. I
sorted by the Type column and disabled everything of Context Menu type, but
it didn't seem to have any effect. I still see all options I saw before when
right-clicking, and the New item still hangs. I wish I could do system
recover to a time before I installed the toolkit, but now it's too late as it
will only allow 6 days back, just after I installed it. However, I have
talked to other people who have installed that program on Vista and nobody
has had this problem.
I am running Windows Vista Business, 32-bit.
