Can't delete messages and now cannot send e-mail

I am having the same problem here being unable to delete an e-mail and now it
seems to be stuck in my outbox and is somehow preventing me sending any
further e-mails.

The error message is as everyone else here - "Windows Mail encountered an
unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low
memory or low disk space and try again."

I have tried moving the message but I cannot and it won't allow me to copy
it either - what is the deal?! Please help!

It doesn't look like Microsoft is coming out with a fix for this
anytime soon.
Once you have a message stuck in the Outbox, and it is
preventing you from sending any new messages, your
options are limited:

1. Do all sending from a web-based mail service, like
Hotmail, Yahoo, or Gmail.
2. Switch entirely to a different email program like
Outlook, or the free Mozilla Thunderbird.
3. If you are adventurous and are familiar with how to use the
Windows Explorer file manager, you can try the database
deletion/regeneration fix advocated by Steve Cochran.

What anti-virus programme are you using? Is it set up to scan
incoming and outgoing mail?

Hope this helps.

Unfortunately this issue has nothing to do with AV and email scanning. This is a know issue in Windows Mail and the workaround(s) is as Gary posted in this thread

I recommend the one to remove the Data base and then to rebuild it

Actually several users with this problem have said they have either Norton
or McAfee. Also it did not show in the beta tests where Norton and McAfee
were not involved. There is a significant level of circumstantial evidence
pointing to them as the main culprits.

First thing is to remove McAfee or Norton AV and antispam from the computer
if they exist. You may need to visit their website to fully uninstall the
product. Then get something less invasive. There are a number of free
antivirus programs, but with any you have to disable email scanning. See
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

You can also try compacting and repairing the database using my WMUtil
program (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).

After that, the only solution so far is to wipe out the database. So go to
Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance | Store Folder to find the message
store location. Then move everything under that Windows Mail directory to
another directory, so that the Windows Mail directory is completely empty.
Then restart WinMail and it will open fresh with nothing
in the database. You can then add your accounts and if they work correctly
then you can use File | Import | Messages and choose WinMail format and
point to the directory to which you moved the files.

I think it is an Anti-Virus problem and have disabled AVG. The last time I
deleted both copies of WindowsMail.MSMessageStore I lost a lot of messages
while Windows Mail rebuilt the data store with AVG turned on.

PS
Please don't use Quoted Printable encoding.
