I have a printer defined in Vista that is associated with LPT1. However
I do not have a printer connected to LPT1 - my only printers are USB
printers. I tried to delete the printer but it just stays in "deleting"
status, even after I reboot the system. How can I get rid of that printer?
Thanks

that doesn't work - I get an error saying "port cannot be deleted. the
request is not supported"

What happens if while in "Printers" you right click on the icon of the
specific printer > select Run as administrator > Delete ??

What is the printer name associated with it. You may have to go into
uninstall a program and uninstall the printer driver.

I had to change the port it was associated with from LPT1 to something
else. After doing that the original suggestion to delete it using
Admiin functions worked. Thanks all for you help.
