Hi there,

I just reinstalled my computer (MCE) and ran windows update. After the
update was completed i noticed the creation of random folders ie du3h2df83h
on my external hard disk. These folders mainly contain copies of updspapi.dll
and update.exe. These files appear to be UNDELETABLE.

i have tried to delete them in safe mode (changing permissions) i have
booted into dos (unable to delete due to NTFS read-only). I am at my wits
end. Windows update has never done this to me before. any help would be
greatly appreciated. thank you!

When do you see these folders? Is it when you start windows or just when you
use Windows Explorer

I am having the same problem. I have 2 random character folders. I cant
delete them either. They are on my storage data drive, on which nothing from
windows is supposed to be there. and in each theres an empty subfolder called
"update". How to get rid of them?
