I can't do a Windows Update at all

The message I get is...

Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested
page. You may find the following resources helpful in resolving the problem:

For self-help options:
Windows Update Response Center
Windows Update Troubleshooter
Windows Update Newsgroups
For assisted support options:
Microsoft Online Assisted Support (no-cost for Windows Update issues)
0x80070424

Also, I can't change the Automatic Updates setting to On - hopefully someone
can help.

I have the CD Rom for Service Pack 2 and have installed it.

Oh sorry - I posted before I read everything and I found a post that related
to my exact problem. Did what was suggested and it worked! Thanks so much and

Please tell me what you did to correct the problem!! There are several of us
