I have a new computer and can't download Flash Player with this Vista
software. I try downloading and keeps failing. I remove anything that was
able to try downloading and start again only to fail. The computer store I
bought it from said they could download it for a charge. What can I do
myself?

Start orb, type:
cleanmgr
Delete the %TEMP% files, and try again.

Perhaps you have an installed version that isn't working.

Adobe has an uninstaller:

http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...4157&sliceId=2

If you download and run that, you ought to be able to install a working
version online.

HTH.

Return address scrambled. Replace nkbob with bobkn.

Realize also that Flash doesn't work on the 64-bit version of IE so if you
are using Vista64 you need to use IE32

Not sure I follow you. Are you saying it won't self download and install
from within a web page or are you saying you can't even manually
download it? If it is the first part of my question then it is because
of Vista restrictions. You should be able to download it manually from
Adobe though and install it yourself by just double clicking the file
you downloaded. If you can't download it manually from Adobe then you
can't download any file to your PC from anywhere so I think you are
trying to get it to self install from within a web page. Do it manually
instead.

Try Downloading The 9.0.115 Version Directly From Adobe's Website (Other
Website's Sometimes Have Outdated Versions Of Adobe Flash Player On Their
Server's, The 9.0.115 Build Of Adobe Flash Player Is Supposed 2 Fix Most Of
The Installation Problems That Occurred With Build 9.0.47 And Older).

What's 'orb'?

Please remember that you have an international audience.

Where are the %TEMP% files under Vista?

Operating systems change very frequently and we are not all geeks.

Finally, why can't a major supplier of corporate software (that has
unfortunately become indispensable to ordinary users) supply software that
works the 1st (or even the tenth time) you load it?

Regards

It wouldn't install for me either.
I downloaded the manual install version and selected 'run as administrator'
to get it installed.

the 'orb' is the little round thing that replaced the START button in the
taskbar.
