I have tried to download and install the sp2 over 300 times and it won't
download. It doesn't give a reason. I have emailed microsoft dozens of times
and nothing has worked. They had me start my computer in safe mode and
install it that way but there is no download in my computer for it and I
guess they are not understanding that because they keep telling me the same
thing over and over. The download is not in my computer anywhere. I don't
know what elae to do to get it to download. I am up to date on all of my
updates besides getting the sp2. Anyone have any suggestions

1. Uninstall SP2 (if installed) via Add/Remove Programs and reboot.

2. Run a thorough check for hijackware, including posting your HijackThis
log to an appropriate forum.

Check for Hijackware

When all else fails, HijackThis (http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip)
is the preferred tool to use. It will help you to both identify and remove
any hijackware/spyware.

**Post your HijackThis log to http://forums.spywareinfo.com/,
http://castlecops.com/forum67.html, http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30 or
other appropriate forum for expert analysis, not here.**

3. Do not install SP2 until an expert gives your HijackThis log a clean bill
of health.

Thanks, but I have tried to download from your first link three times to 3
different Hard Drives. Each time when running the .exe program, I get the
following error message: Extration Failed - File is corrupt. I was almost
ready to order the CD until I saw your message. Now I'm afraid it would be a
waste of money if all it contains is the same corrupt installation file.

Looking at the Windows Update thread in this discussion group, it appears
many other people are having problems with the Service Pack 2 upgrade as
well. What assurances does anyone have that the CD will work any better than
the various on-line updates that continue to fail. The Mac commericials
during the NBA finals probably have a lot of people looking their direction
for their next computer. I had never considered one before, but I probably
will take a hard look at them now.

Thanks again for trying to help when Microsoft doesn't appear to be willing
to.
