When I try to re-update my xp home edition sp1 ecition with service pack 2 I
get a blank white screen returned. At the bottom of the screen on the bar it
says done. I can access other microsoft support sites ok but I cant get the
sp2 upgrade to work.

I uninstalled sp2 because I got a crash notice from Microsoft Error report
that said I needed to install SP2 even though I had already installed it. The
reason I uninstalled it was that I couldn't link to the internet from
hyperlinks that were included in emails. nothing happened when I clicked on
them.

I would appreciate any help you can offer.

I am able to download but unable to install, whether from the updates site or
from the Office Downloads site. As I install, I am asked to insert my
(legitimate) Office 2003 CD, which I do. But it cannot find what it is
looking for there. I receive the message "A required installation file
SKU112.CAB could not be found". So I am left with it in "My Downloads" but I
cannot get any further!

Any idea where I might find it please?

try repairing your installation of Office 2003

Method 1 – Open Word, go to Help – Select Detect and Repair

or use Method 2 -

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Add or Remove Programs.
3. Click the Office 2003 program that you want to repair, and then click Change.
4. In the Maintenance Mode Options dialog box, click Reinstall or Repair, and then
click Next.
5. In the Reinstall or Repair Office dialog box, click Detect and Repair errors in my
Office installation, and then click Install.
6. When the repair process is finished, run the update again.

See if you can install the update now.
