can't download updates anymore from window update

just recently i've been trying to download files from microsoft update
homepage all resulted to "the following updates were not installed" with no
error codes reflected. i tried to follow some of the recommendations it
displayed by executing the microsoft services.msc. first by checking on the
automatic updates startup type if it set at automatic and service status if
it is started.Everthing is set as required.

then next is to check on BITS, it is recommended to set the startup type to
manual then apply then set the service status to started which i did. but in
the process it stopped and error displayed "could not start the Background
Intelligent Transfer Service service in Local Computer." Error 2: The system
cannot find the file specified. will correcting this error resolved my
windows update problem?

please help!

BITS can't be started because the path to execute
c:windows\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs is missing. pls. help!

When searching for available updates on the Update site, you see the 0x8007043B error
http://update.microsoft.com/microsof...n=en&IsMu=True
Have a look at this article which mentions that key in the registry.
