Can't download Windows Update Error number: 0x8007043C

I'm working on fixing my computer from malware, virus, and spyware and was
directed to get all the Widows Updates so I can help stop the programs from
replicating. I can't seem to download it. I went through the download thing
and it gave me the bar saying to install active x. I already have active x
installed so I did a right click on the bar to run active x and then it sent
me to the page with the error:
Error number: 0x8007043C

ERROR_NOT_SAFEBOOT_SERVICE

The service is not supported in the safe boot mode.


Check the Services to see if BITS is set to Manual and Automatic Updates

is set to Automatic.

Right click My Computer on the Desktop or Start Menu and choose

Manage

Click on Services and Applications in the left frame

Double click on Services in the right frame and confirm BITS and AU

settings.

delete all KB files in windows directory and reboot updates will install this
has been a problem that has no answer to why yet but this has worked 100 out
of 100. allso any QXB files they will look like text files.
