I can't even download it

I just bought a new laptop 1 week ago and its running vista home premium.
When I click the start menu, WLM download is listed there on the left. When
I click on it, I am taken to the site where I am supposed to be able to
download. When I click "start download" or "get it free" I have an immediate
error message from explorer. Diagnostics say the network is fine, but that
the error is coming from Microsoft. I have sent the message on to microsoft.
Vista has been out for a while, why is this still happening? What can I do
to get WLM?
