When setting up e-mail I click on tools, then options. The screen is to
large and the apply button can't be seen. The bottom of screen can't b
seen
How do I make the screen smaller so the apply button will be exposed

What screen resolution are you using? It sounds like you have the entire
thing set too low. To change the resolution:

Start>Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization. Click Personalization
and then click Display Settings. Under Resolution, move the slider to the
correct size. If you have a laptop or a flat panel monitor, use its native
resolution. Your laptop's native resolution will be in the documentation
that came with your computer (which may be in a file on the hard drive) and
will also be on the computer mftr.'s tech support site for your model. Your
monitor's native resolution will be in the documentation that came with the
monitor and sometimes on the clear plastic protective sheet that came
covering the screen.

I assume that you are talking about WindowsMail and that by 'screen' you
really mean the Options panel itself. Mine follows the top of the
WindowsMail window, so have you got that positioned as high up the
screen as you can safely go ? If not then drag it up some but if you
already have then it sound as though you need to set a higher screen
resolution. ( Personalise > Display settings )

Or are you having a chuckle ?

Tom

On most program dialog boxes, OK is the default button so if you hit Enter
that will usually save your settings. As for making the screen "smaller"
get a larger monitor or adjust display properties.

What my Dad is talking about is in Outlook express he clicks on option
and changes somethings, but he can't click apply for the changes to tak
place. Hitting enter does not work, there is no minimum or maximu
button, there is no way to "move" the page because it is all the way a
the top, there is no scroll button and putting the mouse over th
corners of the page to shrink it does not work either. Changing th
screen resolution does not work either. I am going to have him tr
using the tab button to get to apply, but the problem is you can't se
the apply button so for now we will count, but there has to be a way t
reduce the size of the page... Thanks in advance for all your replys

[snip]

1) Outlook Exress doesn't exist in Vista.
2) This group isn't for discussing anything but Vista OS problems.

Try asking about your problem in an Outlook Express group where those
experts hang out:

can't find the apply button, we know where it is, we just can't see it
to click on it.

No he doesn't. He might have OUTLOOK, but not Outlook Express.

Outlook Express died with XP and is not included in Vista.

I am wondering if your father has set the screen fonts to a larger size.
Although your comments in this thread don't fit that pattern, it might
possibly be the problem...

Meanwhile, you have never answered the question about his screen
resolution. If he has a netbook, for example, maybe the screen is just not
big enough (in pixels, I mean) to show the whole dialog.

Thanks for all of your help - being able to get to the apply button b
using tab allowed him to save his changes, even though he can't see th
apply button. FYI - he doesn't have a netbook, its a 15" screen an
Outlook vs outlook express vs microsoft outlook - with vista, window
xp, windows 2000, etc. all with comcast - I have set them up for man
people the same way, so I am sorry if I called it the "wrong" name i
vista. Thanks again for all your help! He is happy and his compute
seems to be doing what he wants
