Can't find/delete entry in "Contacts"

I have a typo in one of the email addresses I created. I corrected it using
the edit feature, but the same typo appears when I create a new email
message. Even though I have since deleted the email address I created, it
will still appear when I try to send using the correct email address. I
can't find that email address in my Contacts list to delete. (if this makes
any sense)

Actually, it doesn't.

Are you now talking about what appears up when you try to manually
enter the address in "To" and it attempts to auto-fill the address for
you?

You can delete THAT entry by highlighting it and hitting the delete
key.

If only it were that easy! No, I deleted the contact with the typo error
from my "Contacts", and reentered it with the correction. However, now when
I create a new outgoing message, that contact with the incorrect address
keeps being inserted automatically. As an example: is the
incorrect address. Joeblow@aol .com is the corrected address and is
appearing in my "Contacts" directory. Windows Mail is still putting
as the address. I cannot find in my Contacts
list, only the corrected version. However, Windows Mail chooses to put the
incorrect address on the message.

It isn't in your Contacts, it's in the AutoComplete list, which is limited
to 29 entries and is stored in the Registry. When you email to 29 more
different addresses it will disappear.

It's trying to auto-complete from the last 29 addresses you typed in. This
often does not work correctly. These addresses are stored in the registry
in binary form, and therefore not easily removed.
Here's how to delete them...

BTW, the newer Windows Live Mail works much better.
