I have a Gateway 450 laptop running Windows xp pro sp2
I got a Hp 567 pocket pc running wiin 2002 , I have tried
to install activesync 3.5 and 3.7.1 , 3.5 starts for a
second or two then stops dead, 3.7.1 starts copying files
then stops dead , i cant get the install wizard to run
so I can create a partnership , I tried to set up on my
older gateway desktop running win 98 se , installed fine
and created partnership ok. tried turning off all virus
protects, ffirewalls and popup blocker . if anyone can

You should turn off those things before you first try to install, not after
you get problems as there may be bits written to and left over in the
registry causing issues. Can you go back to a registry version with
absolutely no references added by your failed installation? Or edit the
registry of all references to AS. Then try again, but switch off those
things before trying another install as this advice is usually given in the
documentation if you read it.
Note that I also tried to install and had to edit references out of the
registry as I hadn't disabled those programs. A reinstall worked flawlessly
after a registry cleanup and disabling those programs before attempting
another install of AS.
