can't get any udates to install

I have finally got sp2 to install, but not able to get GDI+ detection
tool (KB873374), .NET Framework 1.1 service pack 1, Windows Player 10,
Microsoft Journal Viewer (windows xp). I have deleted the downloads several
times get them to redownload. When it comes to installing it shows installing
then shows failed with no error code or any reasoning as to why the programs
failed to install. Any help would be great with this prob.. Thanks
