Hello,

I'm trying to get an install of PHP / MySQL / PHP to work on my Vista
Laptop. It's not working for some reason. I've tried two different small
installs that have all of the above included, and then I've also tried
installing all of the above app's one at a time as instructed by Sun
Microsystems web site which would allow me to use Netbeans to do PHP work.
The only thing that works is Netbeans. I can't get Apache to work as the
local web server? I have Visual Web Dev express and it works fine on the
same lap top with a built in server as well. I ran all the installs as the
administrator, and I'm logged in as the admin, and yet no deals. Someone
tell me what's up? I also made sure the ports were allowed thru the
firewall, and the programs / apps above..

Thanks
Tim

Please be more specific when you say "you cannot get them to
work"...Cannot get them to work how? Are there any error messages? Is
the install not working, or is the software not working after installing?

Might I also suggest trying XAMPP (it's vista compatible and has all the
components you need rolled into one package):

I use XAMPP to run our company's intranet and it works great for me and
is easy to administer. It was also easy to install.
