Can't Get the latest Windows Update software.

This is the first message I get when I try to update my xpsp2:

"...We've made improvements to our website. To download the new version of
the software and begin using Windows Update, please click Install Now..".

And then it freezes at like 55% or 44% and throws me out to the error page

[Error number: 0x80072EE2]
The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are
trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.

This is clean fresh XPSP 2 install, what could be the problem? If I attempt
it a second time...it usually picks up where it left of and completes to 100%
and then lets me select custom or express downloads. But I would be a lot
happier if it would work in one try. I'm very paranoid when things don't go
as they should...
And once, after about 20 tries...it made it in one pass...

Help!!!!

I did all the steps recommended, and it did work. I'm just upset that I
would even have to go throught all that nonsence for a brand new fresh
install. Well...on to the next adventure....thanks )
