i cant get my update to download

it has error: 0x8024D007
i also cant download sp2 either.
therefore i cant get automatic updates

Give this a try. Go to Start, Run, type in cmd
Click OK.
At the Command Prompt copy&paste this :

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
%systemroot%\inf\au.inf

Press Enter. Type exit if the Command Prompt window remains open.
Press Enter and then restart the system.
Now try the Windows Update site.

If you're on broadband suggest you download the entire SP2 package from
here:
