Dear all,

I got a trouble to run Windows Server Update Services on the windows 2003
standard version. I can successfully install WSUS on the server with the
special port 8530. I can access this service by entering
http://thisservername:8530 . However, i always got the error msg at the
bottom of the website said: ".....Not-running services: SelfUpdate." I
followed a couple of technical articles from MS and did believe SelfUpdate
Tree under the "Default Web site" of the IIS was running. However,
sharepoint server 2003 is also installed on this server with its special
port 20709. When i tried to browse http://thisservername , it automatically
brought me to sharepoint site. any idea how i can check whether my default
web site (port 80) is correctly running and help me out this desparated
problem. Tks heaps!

Karen

"Karen",

I want to help, but this is not quite the right newsgroup. Please try the
software update services newsgroup, as they are likely to be far more
experienced and helpful with this issue:

microsoft.public.softwareupdatesvcs
