can't go past this window on windows update

i go to start then all programs and then windows update the internet explorer
browser oepn this this message, Checking if your computer has the lastest
version of Windows updating software for use with the website...

The website uses ActiveX controls to determine which version of the software
yoiur computer is running. If you see an ActiveX warning, make sure the
control is digitally signed by Mocrosoft before installing it or allowing it
to run.

What do i need to do to go past this window i click internet explorer to
another site and it works fine
please help

Windows version? If WinXP, is it WinXP SP2?

IE version?

It seems that Windows Updates is checking for WGA validation. If WGA
has not been installed, the next screen in this series asks the user
to approve the Express or Custom installation of WGA. This seems OK.
We just re-activated a few pre-WGA systems recently and came across
this pattern when bringing them up-to-date.
