can't IM anyone in Yahoo IM

Everytime i try to IM a friend with a yahoo IM address I keep getting
" The following message could not be delivered to all recipients:"

This worked previously. What happened? The person can IM me from Yahoo.
Please HELP! I can't find anywhere to post this request. Thanks!

Also I am having trouble changing my status from offline to online. why?

Greetings MJ,

This is actually a well known and documented problem. The Yahoo interoptability with
Messenger isn't very reliable. Hopefully if Microsoft does buy Yahoo, this will improve.

Usually it'll just start working again after trying later. Your best bet if you rely on
this, is just to install Yahoo Messenger and use that.
