Can't install any updates, Error 0x80072EE7, Win 2003 Server

Found Error 0x80072EE7 in my log file.

Looking at other discussions and associated pages on the topic I have no
static mapping in my host files, and correct DNS information.

Any help greatly appreciated.

If you are coming in over a decent network (eg broadband or office) It might
be your MTU - go to www.dslreports.com/drtcp and download and run it.

I suggest changing your mtu to 1300 - then disable and reenable your NIC
then try again.

Lemme know what happens.

Unfortunately this made no difference, even after a full reboot. Thanks for
the suggestion, and would appreciate any more.

FYI. The URL for Dr.TCP has changed to www.dslreports.com/front/drtcp.html

Jez,

Go to Internet Options in the Control Panel. Click the Delete Files
button, put a check in the box next to Delete all offline content,
click OK. Next, click the Delete Cookies button and then the Clear
History button. Click OK.

Now try Windows Update. "something" is causing the connection to
time out. Check that Windows Update has been added to the Trusted
zones sites when you are in Internet Options ... click the Security
tab, click the Trusted sites icon, add these sites :

http://Windowsupdate.microsoft.com

http://V4.Windowsupdate.microsoft.com

https://v4.Windowsupdate.microsoft.com

http://V5.Windowsupdate.microsoft.com


https://v5.Windowsupdate.microsoft.com

http://Download.Windowsupdate.com

Win 2003 Server *should* be going to the V5 site at this time, not
the V4 site listed in the WindowsUpdate.log.

MYU was my only card to play ...to double check ...Can you login to instant
messenger over that network ? Give it a go and let me know cos if you cant
then its MTU .... alternatively dial up from the server using 56k modem and
see if windows update works then (will take ages though). If it does its MTU,
if not its someting ven worse ....
