I can't install any Windows updates

My computer has 11 updated to install but keeps coming up with loads of
different error messages (including 80240016 and 80070002).I've gone on the
Update help site and followed all the procedures, and tried installing the
manual update download, but to no avail. Nothing will work! Please help (I
have Windows Vista)

Are you running Vista, Vista SP1, or (perchance) Vista SP2? If Vista SP1,
did your machine come with SP1 preinstalled?
