Can't install audio drivers

Hi,
Just as the subject implies, I can't seem to install my audio drivers. I'm
trying to install the Conexant AC-Link audio drivers through windows update,
but I keep getting the Error message 80070002 and can't seem to find any
solutions for that particular error. I've tried going to the hp website and
downloading the driver from there, but it won't install that way either.

I currently don't have any sound on my computer, so if somebody has a
solution it would be greatly appreciated.

Experienced users NEVER install any hardware or third-party software updates
offer by Windows Update.

Get your Conexant driver updates from the website of your computer
manufacturer.

as previously stated, I tried downloading the drivers from the HP website but
the installation would always fail (no error message given from this method).
