cant install driversfor wirelees card on windows me laptop

i have athhinkpad 600 laptop with windows me i have a linksys pcimia card but
everytime it gets to installing the drivers it goes into a fatal exception
error 0028 0000000c ive talked to linksys they cant help ,can anyone help
