Hello I've got an odd problem with a winxppro box that won't update.
It has a legit copy of the OS & no indication there is a WGA problem.
All updates have been running fine until yesterday. The autoupdate starts
at 3am on this pc & the log shows the last successful update as 3:14am
6/14/06.
At first the updates would dl ok and then fail install with a 0x80070017
error.
Next, when I attempt to dl again from the update site, the dl itself fails
.... it
starts normally then you get the "Failed!" message. The history shows yet
another
attempt and a fail with the 0x80070017 error.
I've turned off nav. & I don't have any other antispy apps & no new
software. I've logged on as administrator and get same problem.
I've cleared the datastore folder. Same problem. I've manually dld the updates
and receive "Setup error" Data Error (crc) when trying to run them.
I copied the supposedly corrupt dld file to another xppro box on our network
and it runs fine. Pretty unlikely 6 files have crc errors anyway.
I'm at a loss as to what to try. Any help is appreciated in advance!
